Youth-led: Literacy Through Lyrics

Learning new words feels very different when you can sing them, move to them, and have fun with them!

Led by Jackie Laria, a recent Menlo High graduate, Literacy Through Lyrics combined music, games, and movement to help young children strengthen their English vocabulary and confidence.

Drawing from her experience tutoring younger learners, Jackie created a warm and supportive environment where children could learn through play and feel comfortable expressing themselves.

The workshop was a wonderful example of how a youth leader can take her own experience and skills and turn them into something meaningful for younger students.
