本課程免費，需預繳200元保證金。完成至少五堂課並參與最後捐贈活動後，全額退還。 This workshop is free of charge. A $200 deposit is required and will be fully refunded upon attending at least five sessions and participating in the final donation event. 勇氣娃娃- 親手創作一位充滿愛與勇氣的朋友，把溫暖帶給世界 本課程靈感來自台灣劉繼華老師創作的「勇氣娃娃」。她在抗癌期間，以這些娃娃陪伴自己的兒子與災區的孩童，用雙手傳遞愛與希望的力量。透過這樣真摯的故事，我們希望帶領孩子體會人與人之間的善意與關懷。 在八週的工作坊中，孩子們將親手縫製屬於自己的勇氣娃娃，除了學習手縫技巧，也會在創作過程中感受情緒、認識自己，並學會如何為自己注入勇氣與力量。 孩子們將一起規劃「尋找勇氣，把愛傳出去」的行動，將完成的勇氣娃娃送給需要關懷的人。我們希望透過這段旅程，激發孩子對社會的關心、對他人的同理心，並培養他們成為有愛、有行動力的小小世界公民。 相關新聞： 手做勇氣娃娃 劉繼華串連勇氣https://news.ltn.com.tw/news/local/paper/309554 勇氣娃娃原創者－劉繼華老師(中視縱橫天下報導) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvyDHr-6_qg My Courage Friend- Create a hand-stitched friend that carries love, courage, and kindness into the world. This workshop is inspired by the story of Rebecca Liu, a mother from Taiwan who created “Courage Dolls” while undergoing cancer treatment. She lovingly hand-stitched these companions to bring comfort and hope to her son and children in disaster-affected areas. Through her powerful story, we invite students to explore the meaning of kindness, empathy, and human connection. Over the course of eight weeks, students will design and sew their own Courage Friend. As they learn basic hand-stitching techniques and creative design, they’ll also reflect on their emotions, build inner strength, and grow in confidence. Together, the children will plan a “Finding Courage, Spreading Love” project—gifting their completed Courage Friends to people in need of care and comfort. Through this journey, we aim to nurture empathy, social awareness, and a sense of responsibility, empowering each child to become a compassionate, action-driven global citizen. Teacher: Susan Tu Ms. Susan holds a Master’s degree in Foreign Language Teaching and has over 25 years of experience working with children through language and movement. She has taught in Taiwan, the Middle East, Vietnam, and Central America, and previously led children’s rhythmic dance at Taiwan’s Cloud Gate Dance Studio. Her classes blend Mandarin, music, and festive traditions in a fun, expressive way that kids love. Date: 9/7,9/14,9/21, 10/5, 10/19, 11/2, 11/9, 11/16, ( 8 sessions)

Cancellation Policy
Attendance, Absence & Cancellation Policy *Attendance & Absence -For courses with 8 classes or fewer, each student is allowed one personal absence without providing a reason. -For courses with more than 8 classes, students may take up to two personal absences. -In both cases, you will receive make-up credits equivalent to one class fee per absence, which must be used before the current course ends. *Make-up credits can be applied to other eligible classes during the same season. -The difference is non-refundable if the make-up class costs less than the credit value. -If the make-up class costs more, the participant will be responsible for paying the difference. -If it costs more, the student must pay the difference. *If the absence is not reported at least 72 hours in advance, or if the number of allowed absences is exceeded, make-up classes or refunds will not be granted.( info@thejoyculturefoundation.org) * Cancellation & Refund Policy Program Cancellation by Organizer : -Programs may be canceled 7 days before the first class if minimum enrollment is not met. -If a class is canceled, participants will be notified by email and receive a full refund. -Credit card refunds may take 1–2 weeks to process. *Refunds for General Courses ： Cancellations made more than 10 business days before the course start date: Full refund minus a 15% or $50 processing fee (whichever is lower) Cancellations made within 10 business days of the start date: No refund *All cancellations must be made in writing via email to: info@thejoyculturefoundation.org Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
