Service Description

Bullying is a challenge many kids face in school. On April 26, 2025, Joy Culture Foundation will host the Stand Up & Spread Kindness workshop to raise awareness, teach anti-bullying skills, and promote positive initiatives. Led by a mental health counselor, the session will feature storytelling, arts and crafts, and discussions to foster self-protection, inclusion, and standing up for others in an engaging way. Open to children ages 9–12. Speaker: Maggie Tsai Maggie Tsai is a mental health counselor at Anise Health, specializing in culturally sensitive psychotherapy for the Asian community. She has extensive experience working with children and families, having served as a counselor at a K-8 school, a Project Cornerstone reader, and a facilitator of multiple mental health workshops for children and parents. In addition to her work at Anise, she also serves as a counselor and trainer for neurodivergent kids, and their families. Before transitioning to mental health, Maggie had a diverse career as a journalist, a United Nations Information Officer, and the co-founder of a leading brand communications company in China. She is married and a devoted mother of two daughters. Anise Health is a culturally-responsive mental health platform dedicated to empowering the Asian community. Anise integrates therapy and coaching on a monthly basis, curates digital resources in a smooth telehealth platform, and has best-in-class providers who address cultural stressors prevalent in the Asian community. As a result, 92% of their clients improve their anxiety, stress, and depression by Week 12 on the platform. They guarantee clients are matched to providers in 2 business days after submitting this 5 minute intake form. *Only register for 9-12 years old participants.



Cancellation Policy

Participation & Risk Acknowledgement I give permission for my child to participate in the Sugar Painting Workshop organized by The Joy Culture Foundation. I understand that this activity involves the use of electrical sugar painting pens and hot, melted sugar. I acknowledge that participation may involve risks, including but not limited to burns, electrical shock, slips, or other injuries. I understand these risks and knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks, whether known or unknown, associated with participation in this activity, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Parental Supervision I understand and agree that my child must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times during the workshop. I accept full responsibility for my child’s safety, behavior, and compliance with all safety instructions provided by the organizers or instructors. Release and Waiver of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby release, waive, and hold harmless The Joy Culture Foundation, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, instructors, and representatives from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to participation in this activity, including those resulting from ordinary negligence. This release does not apply to claims arising from gross negligence or willful misconduct. Medical Authorization In the event of an emergency and if I cannot be reached, I authorize The Joy Culture Foundation to obtain emergency medical treatment for my child. I understand that I am solely responsible for any medical expenses incurred. Photo & Video Release I grant permission to The Joy Culture Foundation to photograph and/or record my child and myself during the workshop and to use such images or recordings for promotional, educational, and documentation purposes, including websites, social media, and printed materials, without compensation. Severability If any provision of this agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. Governing Law & Venue This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California. Any legal action arising out of this agreement shall be brought in Santa Clara County, California. Acknowledgement & Signature I have read and understand this Parental Consent, Liability Waiver & Media Release. I understand that by signing this document, I am giving up
