Shangzhu is a renowned bird-and-flower painter, born in 1948, and a proud disciple of Professor Lu Yifei of the China Academy of Art. He serves as the Vice President of the Zhejiang Minjian Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, a council member of the Zhejiang International Art Exchange Association, a member of the Zhejiang Artists Association, a member of the Zhejiang Chinese Bird-and-Flower Painting Association, the Deputy Director of the Haohan International Art Museum, and a resident artist at the Dunhuang Center of the China Artists Association. He is also a visiting professor and resides in Hangzhou. Shangzhu has participated in numerous national exhibitions of master artists and has received multiple awards. He was a member of Zhejiang’s art and calligraphy delegation for cultural exchange and friendly visits, traveling to Japan, the United States, and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Zhejiang Television has produced and aired documentaries such as "Renowned Bird-and-Flower Painter Shangzhu" and "Analysis of Shangzhu’s Masterpieces." His publications include "Shangzhu’s Bird-and-Flower Painting Collection," "Selected Paintings by Shangzhu," and the art calendar "Selected Bird-and-Flower Paintings by Master Artist Shangzhu." He has authored 18 instructional painting books on Chinese painting techniques, all of which have been published nationwide. His artworks are known for being fresh, vivid, and full of personality.
