Welcome the Year of the Horse with a joyful, sweet, and immersive Spring Festival celebration!This special morning brings together traditional Chinese arts, hands-on cultural experiences, games, performances, and New Year blessings — all designed for children and families to laugh, play, and celebrate together.

🍯 Sugar Painting Live Demonstration

Watch a traditional sugar-painting artist transform hot, golden sugar into dragons, rabbits, goldfish, and other symbols of good fortune. This centuries-old folk art is recognized as part of China’s Intangible Cultural Heritage and is truly the sweetest kind of magic.

🍭 Sugar Painting Workshop

Children will use child-safe sugar painting pens and guided templates to create their own edible sugar artwork — a sweet creation they can proudly hold up and take home.

Traditional Crafts Zone

(Available throughout the event)

🖌️ Write the “Fu” Character

Children can try writing the Chinese character “Fu” (福), meaning good fortune, on red paper using a brush. Families may also take home a freshly written “Fu” to decorate for the New Year.

Paint an Apple

Taught by a well-known Chinese ink painting artist.

Games & Interactive Fun

🀄 Mahjong Tile Scavenger Hunt

Children will draw two task cards — one showing a color and one showing a number — and search for the matching Mahjong tile. Through play, they’ll learn about Mahjong suits, numbers, and cultural symbols in a fun, hands-on way.

Random giveaway times:

“年” Beast Piñata Activity

A joyful, donation-based tradition symbolizing driving away bad luck and welcoming peace and blessings for the New Year.

Activity Times:

• 11:00 AM

• 12:00 PM

How it works:

• Every $5 donation = 3 hits on the “年” Beast piñata

• When the piñata breaks, candies rain down and are shared among the children

Timing notes:

• Donations made before 11:00 AM → join the 11:00 AM session

• Donations made between 11:00–12:00 PM → join the 12:00 PM session

🌟 New Year Wish Wall

Do you have a wish for the Year of the Horse?Children can write or draw their hopes and dreams and post them on our New Year Wish Wall — big dreams or small wishes are all welcome!

🎶 11:30 AM | Spring Festival Performance

Children’s performances will bring music, joy, and festive energy to the celebration, filling the library with laughter and New Year spirit.

在馬年來臨之際，與我們一起迎接一場甜蜜又熱鬧的春節慶典！本次活動結合中國傳統藝術、親手體驗、趣味遊戲、孩子演出與新年祝福，讓孩子與家庭在歡笑中感受春節文化的溫度。

活動流程與內容

🍯 糖畫表演

觀賞傳統糖畫老師現場示範，將滾燙金黃的糖漿化為飛龍、金魚、小兔等吉祥圖案。這門流傳數百年的民間藝術，被列為中國非物質文化遺產，是最甜蜜的魔術表演。

🍭 糖畫工坊

孩子們將使用安全糖畫筆與模版，親手完成一件可食用的糖畫作品，完成後可拿在手上展示或帶回家品嚐。

傳統手作區

（活動全程開放）

🖌️ 寫「福」字

小朋友可以在紅紙上用毛筆寫下象徵好運與祝福的「福」字，也可帶回一張現寫好的「福」字，為新年增添喜氣。

中國畫表演+教學：畫蘋果

由著名中國國畫藝術家教授。

趣味遊戲區

🀄 麻將尋寶

孩子們抽取兩張任務卡（顏色與點數），在麻將牌中尋找正確的組合，透過遊戲認識麻將花色與數字，輕鬆了解麻將文化。

打年獸活動

象徵驅邪迎祥、迎接平安與好運的中西結合創意活動。

活動時間：

• 上午11:00

• 中午12:00

活動方式：

• 每捐贈 5美元，可打年獸3次

• 當年獸被打破後，糖果灑落，孩子們一起分享甜蜜迎新年

參與提醒：

• 11:00前完成捐款（含線上捐款） → 參加11:00場次

• 11:00–12:00間捐款 → 參加12:00場次
