This workshop is designed for children from Kindergarten to Grade 1/2, especially those who are building confidence in English or come from different cultural backgrounds. Through music, lyrics, games, and movement, children will learn vocabulary, pronunciation, and cultural expression in a warm and playful environment. During this 45-minute session, children will sing songs together, learn new words through lyrics, play fun language-based games, and participate in simple music activities. By combining music and language learning, we hope to help children build English confidence in a low-pressure setting, making learning feel more natural, enjoyable, and fun. – This is a free youth-led workshop and is part of the TJCF Youth Leadership Program. Through this program, we encourage youth to explore their interests, develop creative workshop ideas, and practice leadership, communication, and responsibility while giving back to the community. We also welcome more youth to join us, share their ideas, and build experience and confidence through hands-on leadership opportunities. Jackie has experience tutoring Pre-K, K1, and K2 students, and she looks forward to helping young learners build confidence in English through songs, games, and joyful activities.

Participation & Risk Acknowledgement I give permission for my child to participate in the Sugar Painting Workshop organized by The Joy Culture Foundation. I understand that this activity involves the use of electrical sugar painting pens and hot, melted sugar. I acknowledge that participation may involve risks, including but not limited to burns, electrical shock, slips, or other injuries. I understand these risks and knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks, whether known or unknown, associated with participation in this activity, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Parental Supervision I understand and agree that my child must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times during the workshop. I accept full responsibility for my child’s safety, behavior, and compliance with all safety instructions provided by the organizers or instructors. Release and Waiver of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby release, waive, and hold harmless The Joy Culture Foundation, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, instructors, and representatives from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to participation in this activity, including those resulting from ordinary negligence. This release does not apply to claims arising from gross negligence or willful misconduct. Medical Authorization In the event of an emergency and if I cannot be reached, I authorize The Joy Culture Foundation to obtain emergency medical treatment for my child. I understand that I am solely responsible for any medical expenses incurred. Photo & Video Release I grant permission to The Joy Culture Foundation to photograph and/or record my child and myself during the workshop and to use such images or recordings for promotional, educational, and documentation purposes, including websites, social media, and printed materials, without compensation. Severability If any provision of this agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. Governing Law & Venue This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California. Any legal action arising out of this agreement shall be brought in Santa Clara County, California. Acknowledgement & Signature I have read and understand this Parental Consent, Liability Waiver & Media Release. I understand that by signing this document, I am giving up
