Meet The Teachers


Anda Shi
Little Artists 小小藝術家
Anda Shi Koyama holds a B.A. in Early Childhood Education and Art Design from Nanjing Normal University and a Master’s in Art Education from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She has taught art at several schools in the Bay Area, including Yew Chung International School of Silicon Valley and Silicon Valley International School. Since 2021, Anda has been a dedicated art teacher with our foundation, leading creative and engaging visual arts classes for young learners. She is also an Elementary Art and STEM teacher at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley Lower School, bringing hands-on, interdisciplinary learning to life through art and design.


Ava Chen
Creative Hands-On Fun 動手玩創藝
Ava Chen has nearly a decade of experience in pediatric care and early childhood intervention. Her passion for arts and crafts inspired her to join TJCF, where she has played a key role in designing displays for various themes, events, and workshops. Ava also loves guiding children through stories and hands-on activities.


Jennifer Chiu
Zhuyin Fun 快樂學注音
Ms. Chiu has over ten years of dedicated experience teaching Zhuyin, having started her teaching career in Taiwan before relocating to California. Since 2012, she has been committed to teaching at the Chinese schools in the Bay Area. Ms. Chiu employs interactive and engaging methods that encourage active student participation, primarily focusing on Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade, fostering a love for language and learning in her young students.


L-Chien Hsiao
Music & Movement for Toddlers 幼兒音感律動
Ms. Li-Chien boasts over 20 years of extensive experience in teaching violin and Dalcroze Eurhythmics to students ranging in age from infants with their parents to the elderly. She has been invited to conduct Eurhythmics and solfege workshops for the National Tsing Hua University Choir and the Taiwan Crystal Children's Choir. She has authored publications on music teaching materials and albums and has numerous compositions in various styles of music. Ms. Li-Chien (LC) Hsiao holds a master's degree in Dalcroze Eurhythmics from Longy School of Music of Bard College, Cambridge, MA. Li-Chien is an internationally certified Dalcroze Eurhythmics instructor. She has a license in Dalcroze Eurhythmics (2008) and a certificate in Dalcroze Eurhythmics (2006). She also holds an Instructor Certificate from Taiwan's University (Ministry of Education). 麻州巴德學院朗基音樂院達克羅茲音樂體態律動碩士 雙重國際認證達克羅茲教學執照與證書 利倩老師在教授小提琴和達克羅茲音樂體態律動方面擁有超過20年的豐富經驗,涵蓋的學生年齡範圍廣泛,從嬰幼兒親子、音樂特殊專班、大學音樂系生、幼保師資培訓,乃至長者樂齡皆有。曾為台灣巧虎(巧連智)製作寶寶版音樂律動單元,並出版兩張親子音樂律動專輯及教學示範合集。曾參與科技部與教育部教材研究,與台灣中國文化大學出版音樂教學套書。曾多次受邀帶領清華大學合唱團,以及台灣晶晶兒童合唱團音感及節奏律動講座。此外,她擁有個人影音頻道,分享多元風格的音樂創作。


Mandy Chen
Mandarin Together: Sing, Wiggle & Play! 親子中文唱跳樂!
Ms. Mandy’s class is well-established in the Mountain View/Los Altos area, particularly among families with non-native speakers. The class is a fun playtime full of joy, laughter, kindness, love, and happiness. Her teaching style is very positive, dynamic, passionate, and caring. Many parents learn Mandarin Chinese together with their younger children. She also prepares thoughtful handmade props to fit into each week’s themed class and always brings fun craft projects to all participants.


Samantha Luke

Meet Ms. Samantha — a warm, creative mom who loves sharing Cantonese through stories, songs, and play. Born and partly raised in Hong Kong, she’s passionate about passing on the language and culture she grew up with. Now raising two young children herself, she brings a parent’s insight and heart into every class. With a background in the nonprofit world and a passion for arts and crafts, Samantha brings creativity and care into her teaching, making each session feel imaginative, engaging, and full of heart.


Susan Tu

Ms. Susan holds a Master’s degree in Foreign Language Teaching and has over 25 years of experience working with children through language and movement. She has taught in Taiwan, the Middle East, Vietnam, and Central America, and previously led children’s rhythmic dance at Taiwan’s Cloud Gate Dance Studio. Her classes blend Mandarin, music, and festive traditions in a fun, expressive way that kids love.


Tzuling Liu

Ms. Tzuling holds a B.F.A. in Computer Arts: New Media from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and an M.A. in English from San Francisco State University. She currently works as a graphic designer for TJCF and teaches art and craft at our library.


Vivian Huang
Immersive Mandarin 中文繪本樂學課
Mandarin in Motion 中文說唱舞動課
Vivian Huang is an experienced Mandarin language teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience, including the past decade, which has focused on immersion education and IB PYP classrooms. She designs playful, story-rich learning environments where children explore language through songs, crafts, games, and performance. Her classes celebrate culture and creativity, helping children build confidence, expression, and a lifelong love for Mandarin. Vivian also has experience coordinating story-based stage performances that blend songs and storytelling—an approach she brings into the classroom with energy and imagination.


Zoe Weng
Nature Fun, Play with words 自然好好玩
Science All Around 生活科學好有趣
Ms. Zoe is an experienced Chinese language educator with nearly 10 years of teaching experience. She has a background in the Reggio Emilia educational philosophy and believes in fostering a connection with the natural environment to help children understand the world better. Currently, she teaches at an IB school with an immersion curriculum, tailoring her approach to meet each student's individual needs. Ms. Zoe promotes active student participation, encourages creativity, and aims to unlock each student's potential through practical projects and student-initiated explorations.
